I always try to put something like this or a clock of some sort to show time passing by. This particular illustration is from "The Diary of Molly Fredrickson Peanut Butter Vol. 2". It's from a bondage scene where Molly is the star (of course). The book is actually in black and white but I've made a sepia print of this particula panel (I liked it so much!).
